Trunk or Treat

Hillcrest Church Trunk or Treat is on Saturday October 31st. The student ministry has an awesome opportunity to sell food and drinks and all profits go to our summer missions fund.  The food area will be decorated like a 50’s diner.  This will be a wonderful time to encourage thousands of children and their families that live in the community around us. 09 Student Interns

For those of you who have expressed interest in bring a Pier Student Ministry Intern, here is the low down. On this page you will find a link to the application. Print out the forms and fill them out. Turn in the first two page and the last page of the agreement to me. (Either give them to me or slide them under my office door)  NOTE: Just because you fill out the application doesn’t mean you are automatically an intern.

The next step is for me to sit and talk with you about what is expected from you as an intern. After that conversation, we will know how best to use your gifts and talents here in the student ministry.

09 Student Fall Retreat | Documents Now Available

The 2009 Student Fall Retreat at Camp Baldwin is just around the corner!

• Middle School Weekend is October 9-11.
• High School Weekend is October 16 -18.

Brett Hemphill will be our guest speaker for both weekends.  Brett has been involved with Hillcrest Student Ministry in the past and we know he will be a blessing to us all!  And of course we will have great time of music, fun and games, bonfire, and much more…

Cost: $75 for Students  |  $50 for 2nd Student  |  Free for 3rd Student
(discounts apply to immediate family only)
$50 for Chaperones (no additional discount for chaperones)

Breakfast Clubs start Friday August 28th at the following places:

What-a-Burger (5-Points in Pace)  |  7:45 am

Come join us each Friday morning during the school year at the location nearest to your school as we pray and read God’s Word together.

On June 19, 17 of our Juniors and Seniors went over to Camp Baldwin in Elberta, AL for the Pier Student Ministry Intern Retreat. Pier 4:19 | October 7

I don’t know about all of you, but this message series has been a big gut check in my life. I know others have said the same thing. God is in the process of molding us into His likeness and no one, especially no one in the Bible, said it would be easy.  This past week was a great reminder that faith without deeds is ultimately useless and dead. I challenge each one of us to examine ourselves and ask God to show us where we need refinement.  Remember, it all begins with a Change of Heart.

This coming Wednesday Night we will be continuing in the book of James.  This week, ask yourself what is the condition of my heart?  What am I doing to have a Change of Heart?

Looking forward to seeing you all Wednesday at 5:15 pm when our Cafe, Boardwalk, and Bait Trap opens and then at 6:30 pm for our time of Worship through music, reading of God’s Word, and prayer.  All this is in the Student Center, more affectionately known as The Pier.  Be sure to check the calendar for all the latest opportunities and updates.
