This year over 50 participants will be heading south for the 08 El Salvador Mission. Projects will include:
- Block Parties
- Construction (Minor/Major)
- Elderly Care
- Food Distribution
- Jesus Film
- Surfer Ministry
- Vacation Bible School
- Walking On Water Movie Premieres
We look forward to a great time of ministry and sharing the love of Christ.
After some minor delays with project materials, most groups were able to get started on their projects.
Because of all the rain, one of the rivers flooded, and took a lot of homes with it. We decided to take some food to the families that have been displaced, and fixed lunch and dinner for them today.

Today was the day of cement I guess. Most of the construction sites mixed concrete all day today. Its very labor intensive and takes a lot of time.
VBS at the orphanage has been going well, and the kids are calming down a little. The uniforms you see in some of the pictures were purchased with donations from the Hillcrest family. We also had an opportunity to take the VBS team to the mountain church after lunch today. The people there we so excited and really enjoyed learning bible story and doing some crafts. Bro Floyd presented a spanish bible to the Pastor and also some other bibles for the church.
A couple of the construction projects will be completed tomorrow. Continue to pray for the safety of each team, and continued strength to finish the tasks God has for us to do.

Just a quick note to say hi and let all know you are in our continuous prayers. The pictures are fantastic – we can tell that many life changing relationships are being developed and lives are being touched by our wonderful creator! Drummermaniak (Tim) – we pray you have had opportunities already come your way to help those in El Salvador and maybe even had the chance to reach them through your musical talent! We know you are all working hard – to God’s Glory and we will look forward to many wonderful stories on your return home. We miss you and love you.
P.S. – Take your Genesis Oil – Mom

As I am looking at these pictures this morning I am brought to tears seeing the mighty hand of God at work through each and every one of you. Each of you were specifically chosen for the task before you in El Salvador. I can’t wait to hear from Jace and each one of you regarding how your lives have been impacted and also the lives of the people of El Salvador. I am so proud of our youth for stepping out on faith and heading the call from our saviour to spread the gospel. There is nothing more important than spreading the wonderful news of our great and mighty Jesus Christ!
“Conditions before Christ returns”
Mark 13: 10 “The gospel must first be preached to all the nations.”
“Christ’s return”
Mark 13: 24-29 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkend, and the moon will not give its light; the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.”
You are spreading the word in El Salvador so they can become His elect. God bless each one of you and I love you all.
Jace I love you and I am praying for you.

Hola a todos!
Hello to everyone!
It is wonderful to see pictures of everyone and to pick out the faces of those I know personally. It is a wonderful feeling to see the Hillcrest Family working for the Glory of God in El Salvador. Which El Salvador means “the Saviour”. What better place to share Jesus with others. I pray for all of you to be safe and united in your work.
Romanos 15:5
Que el Dios que da duracion y animo de a vosotros un espiritu de unidad entre vosotros cuando sigueis a Cristo Jesus. Asi que con un corazon y una boca podeis glorificar el Dios y Padre de nuestro Senor Jesus Cristo. (I’ll apologize for no accent marks….my computer is fighting my spanish)
Here it is in english…..otherwise what good would it do if you didn’t understand?
Romans 15:5
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Love to all,
Amor a todos,
Susan Walker

Hi Mission Team and John,
What a joy to see your ministry unfold each day. It is my prayer for each of you that you will find joy each day in your obedience to the call. I am asking the Lord to grant you rest each night, refreshing each morning as you have your time alone with HIM and that each experience will cause you to want to “GO” again to the ends of the earth.
John, how many times have you spoken arabic when someone spoke to you in Spanish?!
Have a great week and we look forward to these updates each day. Brian and I are praying for all of you!

Hi, guys and dolls, what wonderful pictures of the joy and love the Lord is allowing you to spread to these people. I hope you know that your church is praying for you as a group and individually. We miss all of you, but are so excited to see the work and love that is spreading through your hands there in El Salvador. Keep up the good work, don’t grow weary and we will see you soon. I think that Joyce Lewis is camera shy, have not seen her picture and only one of Rita and Michelle. Okay, girls, come out and smile or are you under some tree fanning in the shade? HA JK, I love all three of you. God’s continue blessing safety. ME/Judie

Dear El Salvador Team,
The Hillcrest family is so proud of you and is blessed to know that you are ministering to the people of La Libertad. We prayed for you tonight at our Wednesday night Bible Study and will continue to pray that God will use you in a mightly way.
Your pastoral staff encourages you to share Jesus, through your words and your actions, with everyone you meet. You may be the only example of a committed Christian that some of them may ever experience. Share Christ, work hard, and don’t laugh when pastor Jim speaks Spanish.
We love ya’ll

My prayer for the El Salvador Mission Team today:
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us,
that Your ways may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.
May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You.
May the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for You rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth.
May the peoples praise You, O God;
may all the peoples praise You.
Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us.
God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear Him.
Psalm 67
I pray that each of you are making His ways known in El Salvador.
Sending love from Molino to La Libertad!

It has been so amazing to see the willing vessels you each have been this week as the hands and feet of Jesus in El Salvador! Our Lord has certainly equipped each of you to bless the people of La Libertad with His love, HIs Word and His compassion. We are truly blessed to belong to a church that continues to reach beyond our doors to the uttermost parts of the world. Our prayers are with you as we look forward to your safe return home and all that you will share with us from this most amazing experience in your spiritual journeys.
May God bless each and every one. We love and miss you TIm – hurry please, having drum withdrawals (did I really say that?) Hope you got to play some for the children – they would love it.

Wow what a week!!! The photos are great!! It is almost over, and the hard work of building; painting; teaching and the opportunity to share the Word of God will without doubt have an everlasting impact. I sit here typing this note with joyful tears knowing that you, Marti and Ben, with an awesome team from an awesome church have had an opportunity to share, and grow from this experience. With this experience, our church becomes even stronger through the bonds you have made as a team and for the work of Gods ministry. The smiles on everyones faces shows that the message is getting out. Keep it up, the last mile is always the hardest. It looks like everyone did a good job of keeping power tools out of Pastor Jim’s hands, that’s good cause we want him back in one piece!!! We love you guys back here, and you are in our prayers. Safe travels!!
Love
Ron and Drew
